I'm Free . . .

. . . free fallin'! (Just a link to the ear worm. Click if you're not already singing along.)
This week, I'm "unraveling" on a Friday instead of like usual on a Wednesday. Because I needed to wait until knit designer Elizabeth Smith released her newest pattern - the Morgan cardigan - yesterday. But now I'm . . . free . . . to share my test knit version with you!
And, folks. I am over the moon with this one!
It's a great little layering piece. Easy to throw on over just about anything. It was fun to knit, and Elizabeth's pattern is a breeze to follow. There are versions for knitting it in either a sport/DK weight or a worsted weight yarn (I knit mine in a sport weight yarn) (but if I knit another, I will probably go for the worsted version because faster). There are also optional sleeves if that's your jam.
Maybe you can see why I'm . . .
free fallin'
(now I'm free fallin')
You can find all the details over on my Ravelry project page. And Elizabeth has lots more information - and other test knit versions - over on her blog.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Also . . . if you're interested . . . the little tunic/apron I'm wearing? It's this pattern from Ellen Mason. I have made many MANY of these, and they make frequent appearances in my day-to-day, layer-y "uniform." Great pattern. (As is the York Pinafore from Helen's Closet. I've made a bunch of those, too.)
Woot! That is just too cute, Kym! I love how it turned out! (and it looks like the most perfect and comfortable layering piece!)

I love that sweater but mostly I want to say thank you for the pattern links. These are just the tunics I have been dreaming about!

I love it! And now that I'm finally attempting a sweater, this is the one I'm going to knit next. (I even have the yarn!) The whole outfit looks great on you, especially with Tom Petty singing in the background.

Love your sweater! I saw the pattern release yesterday and I want to make one. Yours looks great on you!
And, Free Fallin’ is another song that I’m learning on the guitar :)

Oh my goodness, could you be more adorable in your high top sneakers and slouchy socks? I love the sweater, too! But mostly I just love you.

Great job on the sweater, Kym! It looks great on you and is perfect for autumn. I may have to get this pattern.

I saw that pattern release yesterday and thought it was the one you tested! Love it!! She says that it's a slip-stitch pattern... is it? Is there "ribbing" involved at all? I don't think my wrists could handle an entire sweater in ribbing... but this looks like a "uniform" piece!!

The sweater is perfect with the way you wear your layers. I need to take a cue from you and figure out a better look for myself. Layering is the only way I stay warm in winter. The grays you use look so good together and I love that pop of red!

Love it! That's exactly what I thought the second I saw it--layering! That's going to be a fun one. (Speaking of fun, I love those whimsical photos!) Happy week-ending to you.

I love it! Definitely putting this on my list (along with 200+ other things!) Your outfit is great in general and I'd love to also sew a million of those dresses.

Oh, I love that sweater!!! And I love how you styled it, what a great outfit! That might be my next project.

Such a cute cardi and you styled it perfectly!

Your whole outfit is darling. You wear it well. The sweater looks just perfect. Thank you for the pattern links. Those tunic like aprons look like something I could make and wear. My jeans are patched and threadbare. I think leggings are much more comfortable. Would you mind sharing any particular legging brand that you like?

I like it! All of it! And all of you. ;-)
