The Thing About Summer

Sweet Days of Summer . . .

Click here for a soundtrack to accompany today's post.

I've always loved this song.
(And not just because it features prominently in one of my most delicious junior high memories either.)

Summer breeze
Makes me feel fine . . .

Blowin' through the jasmine
in my mind . . .

As you may remember, I started knitting this shawl (which is free, by the way) with Vicki's lovely yarn on my trip to Alaska.  I finished it up shortly after we returned home, but only recently did a "photo shoot" on the back deck of our cabin up north.

It will always remind me of my vacation and those . . .
sweet days of summer.

Oh wow! That is so lovely! Summer Breeze indeed! (Great song btw... I will now be humming it all day!)

Great song (SO many memories!!!) and a gorgeous shawl. That turned out so nice Kym and looks like it will go with everything!

Summer Breeze is just lovely and you chose the perfect place for a photo shoot! (If anything can tempt me away from Hitchhikers, this just might be the pattern!)

What a lovely shawl...and a great song too! Enjoy!

I looked at your Ravelry page and the shawl is bigger than I expected! Knit in Alaska and photoed "up north" this shawl has had a charmed life. It's gorgeous and I love Vicki's yarn. This project is a perfect matchup of pattern and overdye yarn.

Love that one!

That's really lovely. And now I've got a nice song stuck in my head, too.

Stunning shawl. Perfect yarn

Such a lovely keepsake from your summer. And now an old favorite tune playing in my head and happy to have it. Pretty yarn in a great pattern.

Very pretty AND one of my favorite songs.

That turned out so beautifully!

What a finish!!! WOW

I've been knee-deep in kiddos & tie-dye, with a side of knitting & sewing, so completely out of the loop. I love how this turned out, Kym! I love that it was your Alaska knitting, too.

Your shawl is magnificent! Wear it in the best of health and proudly. Despite summer's not being my fave season (ranks on the bottom), "Summer Breeze" I love, especially the version by the The Main Ingredient!
Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
