Shine Like the Sun
06/21/2018
"I am Summer, come to lure you away from your computer... come dance on my fresh grass, dig your toes into my beaches." ~Oriana Green
It is the summer solstice . . . the longest day of the year. Celebrate the sun today.
- Get outside and bask in the light. Take a walk. Maybe plant something.
- Reflect on the year at its mid-point. Where have you been? Where do you want to go?
- Look for the good in your life, and give thanks. Shine like the sun.
Happy summer solstice!

Beautiful quote! Probably no sun here today, as we have had some really atrocious storms overnight and the forecast is calling for overcast skies all day. But, I am so happy about summer!

It's overcast here today also, but that hasn't stopped me from taking a walk, tending to plants, and trying to start a few new ones from lamium, hydrangea, honeysuckle, and rose cuttings. Wishing you a happy summer solstice, Kym!

That explains why it was so light out at 9 last night!

Happy Summer Solstice Kym! Love the quote and your 3 things are good to do any and every day of the year! Pretty grey and a bit wet here today, so no basking in the sun for moi.

Oh, summer, you are my favorite. Happy Summer Solstice, my friend!

I did not realize until I looked at my calendar that today is Summer Solstice. I was shocked and sad, but then thought a long walk (without Mylo) would be just the thing! On your suggestion I plan on adding a few dance steps throughout! Here's to enjoying every minutes of the summer sun!!

It's raining here today, but I took the dog for a short walk this morning and I'm hoping the rain will wash away the humid air that's been hanging around for too long. Your suggestions are such wise practices for this new season and beyond.

The summer solstice always seems like a turning point, a place or time to pause. Even when I worked (12hour shifts as a nurse) I tried to get outside at least once to honor the day.
And like the above commenters in their separate places it is a rainy day here, but the sun is still there!

The Solstice snuck up on me ... maybe because it got light so darned early in NYC I couldn't imagine the days getting any longer? ;-) Love your ideas to mark the year's mid-point (but kind of hoping we get a break from the heat this afternoon...)

May you bask in the sunshine that is summer! And yes I just spent the morning with my husband planting the last 7 shrubs in my new front landscape. I love it and know it will be even better when the perennials are eventually planted. Ahh the joy of summer!

Great suggestions for the solstice! We are enjoying a gorgeous bouquet of garden blooms simply arranged in a vase - as Mom checked out the yard this morning a beautiful assortment of plants had perfect blooms to come together for a bit of solstice indoors.
