May the Fourth . . . Be With You

Hibernation is Over

Last October, I wrote about a languishing spring sweater I was putting into hibernation for the winter . . .

It's time to get that clump of black yarn out and knit some sleeves!

I ran into a couple of major snags right out of the gate, though.

  1. Where put sweater?
  2. Where put yarn?

Let's just say . . . nowhere obvious.  And apparently not together.

Eventually they turned up.  I stumbled onto the sweater last week, tucked away in a drawer filled with summer t-shirts.  The yarn?  It proved more elusive, but I finally found it -- squished in a basket of random leftovers.

So.  Now . . . I'm back in business.  Sleeves on the needles and ribbing commenced.  This sweater is officially out of hibernation!

As for what I'm reading . . . it's The View from Castle Rock by Alice Munro.

It takes a little while to yawn and stretch when coming out of hibernation, but it sounds like your sweater is ready to go. Spring (with plenty of light) sounds like a good time to knit with black yarn and clever you will have an (almost) instant sweater!

Intriguing. I thought I was the only one who lost things like this, and not in the same place ...

Can't wait to see your progress though!

The book sounds really interesting - please let us know your thoughts when you finish it.

Good for you for finding the various parts and connecting with them again. I'm (still) knitting the Peace Cowl. Reading Moonglow and listening to Dept. of Speculation.

It's just nice to know that other people put things away and have a challenge to find them again.

Yay for lost but now found knitting projects!! (And, good books to boot!!)

Glad to know I'm not the only one with yarn/project storage issues.

Knitting must be calling to you. I have not read that Alice Munro book and I'll put it on my TBR list if you like it.

Sleeves! Go Kym Go...can't wait to see the finished piece!

Hi Kym, Glad you found the yarn & the sweater so you could get to knitting again. I just spent a couple days looking for a book I knew I had...Found it! Are your reading/listening to the book when you knit?
Look forward to seeing the knitted garment.

It drives me a little bit crazy when I'm ready to go on a languishing item and either can't find it or can't pull the pieces together!! Happy that you find yours. :)

I'm so happy to hear you're back to knitting (something!) - I think that sweater is a great piece for spring and summer layering. I haven't tried Indigo - how do you like it? seems like it would be perfect for Georgia, tto.
