A Close One

Last Sunday, as I was heading back into my driveway after a run, I could see a hot air balloon way off in the distance.
I could tell it was one of two particular balloons that frequently fly the skies over my neighborhood.
And I went inside to get some water.
Then, I could hear the whooooosh of the balloon, so I knew it was getting closer. I grabbed my phone and went outside.
It was moving fast!
Closer.
Faster.
And even closer.
Until it was right over my head.
So close that I was conversing with the people IN the balloon! (They were much amused with my picture-taking and Jenny's wild barking.)
I feared for my trees. And my roof.
But they sailed right on by.
That was fun!
love the photo series - scroll really fast and you can see the balloon sail through the air! what filter did you use to get the cool edges?

That's what you call 'close encounters'! How fun to see something unique fly right overhead. I like Mary's idea of scrolling fast through the pictures.

Fun! Many years ago I knew someone who was a balloon pilot in Park City

The fast scrolling idea is great!
A hot air balloon drifted down low over our lake once, then rose and drifted away. They are so stunning!

So fun! I did that when I was about 25 - not sure I've got the nerve any longer!

So cool! I've seen balloons almost that close over my house -- the Goodyear blimp, too! Would love a balloon ride someday!
