12 (Blog) Days of Christmas: On the Fifth Day

On the Fifth Day of Christmas . . . I bring you my calendar.

Not that bad.  (There were far worse years when my kids were busy high schoolers with concerts and parties and games thrown in.)  But still.

It's a jam-packed few days.

Parties and a tea and working my once-a-month gig at the yarn shop and the frenzy of activity that only the holidays can bring.  (And, of course, there're also some real-work-related deadlines on an entirely different calendar that I need to meet . . . so I can take a break between Christmas and New Year's Day.)

Most things on my calendar are things I really look forward to, though.  So . . . even though I'm busy this weekend . . . and even though it almost surely means I won't finish my little Christmas knitting projects on time . . . I'm going to enjoy spending my weekend dressing up a little and celebrating the season with friends!

How about YOU?  Busy weekend ahead?

That sounds great! We had a party last weekend - well, I had a party because Dale had to work with the band both nights last weekend - and tonight my cousin Len and his wife are coming over for dinner. Tomorrow we're going to Boston for Candlelight Carols at Trinity Church and other than Christmas Eve at our house we don't have any parties until the 29th. I guess we don't have many party throwing friends!

Our parties of the season are over, too. Now we just slide into Christmas and then the New Year. How nice you're taking a (much needed) break after Christmas!

Debbie

Last weekend I hosted our wine club's Christmas party and we had a lot of fun. This weekend will be quieter, but busy with rehearsals and finishing up my Christmas cards!

Marilyn

Our 7 year old granddaughter is having a dance recital and 3rd DS is singing in a Christmas Cantata this weekend. :D
And we are probably doing some fireplace, countertop and appliance shopping on Saturday....

Have the two layers for a cake baked, and I will frost them tomorrow for the lab Christmas party Saturday evening at our place. I should dust, but I think that may not make it on to my to do list.

Wrap wrap wrapped up a storm -Dan arrives tomorrow,
a cookie swap Thursday (I'm drinking not able to bake that
much yet!) and really no parties either! You looked
beautiful in your FB picture today!
