What Light Through Yonder Window Breaks?*
11/09/2012
People are like stained glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is light from within.
--- Elisabeth Kübler-Ross
When we were looking at houses to buy when we moved to Kalamazoo, there were several features that drew us to our eventual (current) home. The arched brick fireplace. The library. The kitchen island. And these. . .
Yeah. I have stained glass windows in my bathroom.
They don't look like much from the outside.
Tucked into the corner. Way in the back.
But when the sun shines, you notice.
From the inside, they are magical!
I think I need to spend more time in my bathroom through the dark season. . . especially around 10:00 in the morning!

They really are beautiful and probably one of those things that you see every day and sort of forget about how special they are. I'm jealous of your bathtub!

I like that tub too! I've got a few kaleidoscopes that are particularly helpful in getting through the deep darkness of winter! Beautiful windows!

Oh Kym! I love them! What a great way to have light (and color) and privacy at the same time.

Beautiful! The houseboat was full of stained & leaded glass windows -- adding color to the light, making such a difference.

Light in glorious colors IS magical. I'm afraid I'd never leave the bathroom as I'd be watching the light move throughout the day.
