Oh-So-Mellow

Projectspectrum
Welcome to September.  And . . . YELLOW!

(y'gotta have a little Donovan, y'know?)

There is plenty of yellow in my garden right now (and I'm not even talking about some of the ratty-looking yellowing leaves).

I've got a couple of really fine yellow roses just going to town. . .

And I have plenty of happy Brown-eyed Susans to make me smile.

Some workhorse Stella d'Oro lilies are up for yet another bloom.

And, there's some bright yellow foliage here and there.

And. . .  if you look closer (there, under the hydrangea) there's even a yellow knitting project. . . just hanging around, oh-so-mellow, waiting for a little attention and a big finish.

Mellow Yellow.  (that's right)

I'm first! :-) And let me be the first to wish you a great weekend. I think we've got one yellow sunflower left. Oh yes, and all those squash flowers that the bees missed!

I heard somewhere that the phrase 'mellow yellow" came from smoking banana peels to get a buzz.
BUT a little research provided an even more uh interesting meaning, straight from Donovan himself:

Whatever the source of Donovan's inspiration, I love the song and saw him perform it live in 1968 or 1969. I loved him undyingly. lol
Your yellow roses are so beautiful.

The flowers are wonderful! I like to look at yellow but I don't really like to wear it. If that makes any sense. :D
