She Said It

"We all live in suspense, from day to day, from hour to hour; in other words, we are the hero of our own story." -- Mary McCarthy
March is Women's History Month.
To celebrate, on Fridays during the month of March, I'll be honoring women by highlighting quotes by women.
Celebrate your story! Celebrate Women's History Month.
Just a few minutes ago I saw on the breast cancer site a quote that I like a lot:
"Civilization is a method of living and an attitude of equal respect for all people"
Jane Addams
I find it very telling that when I googled to check the quote the first version I found on some website was:
"Civilization is a method of living, an attitude of equal respect for all men.
Jane Addams
How dare they change what she said I wonder!

You've hit on a great idea. I'll look to see what I can find. Love the quote and the picture you used!

Speaking of women and history and being left out of the writing of it, I learned today (on RadioLab) that the first person to go over Niagara Falls in a barrel was... a 63-year-old woman? Her name was Annie Taylor, and you can read about her in Wikipedia.

And, would she be the author who wrote - The Group?
Great quote...
