Dear Fred
Just Leading Me On

Golden Age

Soundtrack time. . .

I remember, when I was about 8 or 9, learning for the first time about Golden Birthdays.  At the time, my neighborhood pal, Wendy, and I were Most Disappointed.  Her Golden Birthday (she was born on the 1st of the month) had already passed - long before she even knew what a birthday WAS.  And mine?  Well. . . I'd be TOO OLD to even enjoy it (I was born on the 30th of the month)!

(Truth be told, I was right -- I didn't enjoy my Golden Birthday.  When I turned 30, I was 7 months pregnant and was working as a CPA in the midst of a very busy tax season.  I remember not being much in the mood to celebrate anything. . . let alone a Golden Birthday!)

Anyway, TODAY is Brian's Golden Birthday:  19 on the 19th.

And it IS going to be a Golden kind of celebration!

Golden sunshine (so you can actually USE your new birthday longboard!).

A spring break trip (coming right up) to the Golden State.

Shining, glittering, dazzling. . .

Happy Birthday, Brian!  You're GOLDEN!

(And a special shout-out to my wonderful brother-in-law.  Happy FIFTY, Kurt!  Welcome to . . . the Fabulous Fifties!)
